Triangle Neighbors (TN)

TN covers the area bounded by Clark, Halsted, and Addison.  One of the most important initiatives for Triangle is to build a community garden/park at 815-817 W Roscoe.  Through various fundraising efforts, Triangle has raised over $1.4 Million to acquire two adjacent lots and start construction.  Triangle held the 12th Annual Northalsted Halloween Parade as a free costume contest for kids, pets, adults and groups and is currently planning the 2009 Halloween Parade on Saturday, October 31, 2009.  Over 40,000 viewed and 300 participated in the parade which has quickly grown to become one of the Chicago area's must-attend Halloween events. The parade draws a broad mix of area residents including children and families.  The iconic annual parade is always guaranteed to be one of the city's most outrageous and imaginative Halloween celebrations. 

Now that we have a design chosen, our next step is to get donors to help us build the park.  Past fund-raising events included Harry Caray's events, Charity Bachelor Auction, Golf Tournament (May 2006), Garden Walk Lemonade Stand (July 2007),  and the annual Halloween Parade (October 31st every year).   We have also had Cubs' Rooftop Fundraisers and annual Space Park Clean-up.  Congratulations everyone - - we closed on the second lot of 817 W Roscoe on February 2nd, 2007 and began construction August 2008 with goal of completing in 2009.
