Blue Cart Recycling

The City of Chicago invites you to participate in the new recycling program - put all your recyclables in your blue cart.

Blue Recycling Carts

• Arrival beginning May19, 2008
• Pick-up after June 2, 2008 and will be every other week
• Tentative pick-ups Summer 2008: June 2-6, 16-20, July 2-4, 14-18, 28-31, August 11-15, 25-29
• Items can be placed loose or bagged in blue carts
• Accepts glass, metals, plastic 1-5 & 7, phone books, magazines and cardboard boxes (please flatten boxes)
• Styrofoam not accepted

 Black Carts (Garbage - not recyclable or yard waste material)

• Collected weekly
• Can ask to have a black cart removed after blue carts in place*

 Yard Waste (Bagged)

• Collected weekly April to November

 Batteries (Used)

• Collected at libraries, Walgreen’s photo counters and Alderman Tunney’s office (1057 W. Belmont)

 Drop Box

*Please note alley space may be tight for a few weeks with the black and blue carts until some carts may be removed.
