LVCC Presents: Lake View Music Fest

(THE 2009 MUSIC FEST WILL BE BACK IN AUGUST!)

Located in the heart of one of Chicago's most thriving neighborhoods - and home to some of the most popular entertainment venues in Chicago - the Lake View Music Fest offered continuous live music, tastings from area restaurants (including Mrs Murphy's & Sons Irish Bistro and The Bar Celona), and goods and wares from local merchants. With the famous ballpark as backdrop, this seventh year event surrounded itself with local bars and restaurants.  With the high energy and the atmosphere of some of the hottest spots in Chicago, the consumer found plenty of entertainment at this festival on Saturday July 5th and Sunday July 6th from 12N to 10PM each day.

The fest was held on Sheffield (1000W) from Waveland to Addison (3600N).  (We applied to extend the festival down to Newport but the 44th Ward denied the application.) 

Among acts who performed are the eponymous Mickey Hart Band, headed by the Grateful Dead's legendary drummer and percussionist & Daryl Stuermer, guitarist for both Phil Collins and Genesis ... Chicago jazz-funksters Liquid Soul ... the over-the-top musical musings of That 1 Guy (a.k.a. Mike Silverman)... and acclaimed Southern singer/songwriter David Barnes.   Your $5 donation ($7 in the evening) at the gate supported the Lake View Citizens' Council and our ongoing programming for the neighborhood.  Read the press release.
