| Dear John,
We hope you will join us at our next bi-monthly
Triangle Neighbors' meeting on Wednesday, November 14th
at 7PM at the LVCC Offices (867 W Buckingham - Lower
level). We received some last minute prizes
for the Halloween parade that we were unable to
distribute so we'll be giving those away to residents
who come to the meeting on the 14th.
The agenda includes discussing a major zoning
proposal at 3532 N Halsted. This is a new
proposal (previous proposals have not been positively
received) that calls for 30 units plus 2,450 square feet
of commercial space in an upzoning on Halsted (that was
previously downzoned based on neighborhood
feedback).
We'll also recap the Halloween Parade, solicit
input for next year, and have an update on the
construction of the wall at Space Park.
Following the meeting, we'll go down to John Barleycorn
for complimentary beverages and hors d'oeuvres to meet
with the 19th and 23rd district police teams.
See you next Wednesday at 7PM!

Halloween 2007
Thanks to everyone who
made the 11th Annual
North Halsted Costume Parade a huge
success! This year's presenting sponsor was
Caribou
Coffee, and along with Effen Vodka, the Northalsted Area
Merchants Association, and a multitude of sponsors,
we were able to raise several thousand dollars to
help us with the construction of Space Park.
We have estimates that 40,000 people came down to
watch the festivities. Almost 300 people
registered to march in the parade to be eligible for the
thousands of dollars of prizes we gave away, including
cash and airline tickets to anywhere in the United
States.
We picked this year's theme, "Fire Breathin,"
after securing several dragons. The parade began
was Duncan the dragon, illimunated with thousands of
lights and ended with Pyrotechniq's
three-headed dragon.
We want to thank everyone for their support -
especially our volunteers, judges, sponsors, and
participants. | |
