Alderman Tom Tunney, CAPS and Triangle Neighbors
have teamed up to post numbers on garages in alleys
on Saturday, December 1st. Chapter 10-4 of the
Chicago Municipal Code requires everyone to have address
numbers 3-6 inches high on both the front and rear of
their property.
If you had an emergency at your residence and two
officers were dispatched - one to the front and one
to the rear, would both officers be able to locate
your property quickly? If the police and other
emergency vehicles cannot find you, they can't help
you.
This is a FREE program to residents (funding
provided by the 44th Ward and CAPS). We will
focus on the garages in the alleys in the south-half of
Triangle (Cornelia, Newport, Roscoe, Buckingham, and
Aldine). Numbers are also available at
the 44th Ward Offices.
To refuse this FREE service (and risk
being ticketed), please call Bennett at the 44th Ward
Offices (773 525 6034) with your name and address.
Numbers will be posted on all garages that don't already
have them unless you call by this Friday to refuse
this FREE service.
If you are interested in helping us post the
numbers, we are meeting at Space Park (815-817 W Roscoe)
at 12 Noon on Saturday to get supplies.
