Happy Halloween from Lake View Citizens' Council
Dear John,

Halloween festivities kick off this weekend with events at Agissiz School (Saturday 10AM -1PM), Nettlehorst School's Halloween Hoopla (Sunday 12N-6PM) and Sheil Park/Southport (Sunday 12N-4:30PM).   Plus don't forget to recycle as part of Art 44.46 this Saturday, including free at home pick up from ZipCarCartage.

Maybe the most anticipated event is Triangle Neighbor's 11th Annual Northalsted Halloween Parade presented by Caribou Coffee on Wednesday, October 31st at 7PM.   We have thousands of dollars of prizes for kids, pets, adults and groups.  Free registration at Spin (800 W Belmont) beginning at 5:30PM on Halloween.  (Come early to the parade as music entertainment and emcee Dean Richards (WGN) are on our Roscoe stage beginning around 6PM.)

To participate in the parade, you must sign up before 6:45PM.   The parade kicks off Halloween night at 7:00PM and marches from Belmont to Newport on Halsted.  (Halsted will be closed to traffic from Belmont to Cornelia approximately 6:30PM to 9:30PM.)  Costume categories include:
  • Kids - Most Orginal Costume, Scariest Costume, and Most Adorable Costume (every kid who participates receives a prize 'treat')
  • Pets - Best Pet Costume
  • Adults - Best Drag Outfit, Most Original, Best Costume tied to our theme ("Fire Breathin'"), and Best Adult (Other)
  • Best Couple and Best Group Costume
Right after the parade, join our emcee, Miss Foozie, at our Roscoe stage as we annouce the winners.  Each winner receives gift certificates from local businesses.  Adult/Group winners also each receive $100 gift cards from Lake View East Chamber of Commerce good at over 100 Lake View Merchants.  The best overall costume (as voted by the audience applause) will receive a pair of tickets on American Airlines(R) to anywhere in the continental U.S.
Have a safe Halloween Week!

John

HELP WANTED
Are you interested in helping out the Halloween Parade?  We need volunteers to help marshall the parade (e.g. crowd control and help put up/take down the barricades).   It's only 1-2 hours of work and it is a great help to the community.  If you are interested, drop us a line at triangle@lakeviewcitizens.org
Check in with us at Spin (800 W Belmont) on Wednesday, October 31st at 6PM
