| Dear John,
If you haven't already, please take a couple
minutes to take this Survey on
Proposed Planned Development at Clark, Addison
and Sheffield. The entire development is within
Triangle's boundaries and so it is extremely important
we get your thoughts about this proposal.
There are weekly Wednesday meetings for the next
several weeks between planning the Halloween
Parade, CAPS 2331 Beat Meeting and our next Triangle
Neighbors' meeting. We hope you can join us
for one or all of these meetings that each start at
7PM.
Finally, we want to make sure everyone knows that
Halsted Street will be closed for the Halloween Parade
beginning as early as 3PM on Saturday, October 31st.
This will impact not only Halsted, but also the
side streets between Belmont and
Addison. | |

Community March: Taking Back the
Streets
There will be an upcoming Late Night Community Walk
in the 44th Ward. Residents can join police
officers and community leaders to walk the streets to
show solidarity during two separate walks.
Neighbors will meet at Roscoe and Halsted (7-Eleven
Parking Lot) on Saturday, October 24 at Midnight and at
again at 2:00am Sunday morning. (Both walks are
late Saturday night.)
To improve safety, Alderman Tunney's office will be
installing next week new, improved street lighting on
Roscoe and Buckingham from Clark to Halsted.
If you have any questions, please contact the 23rd
District CAPS Office at (312) 744-0064 or Alderman
Tunney's
office. | |

Halloween Day Events: Saturday, Oct
31st
This year, Halloween is more than just
the parade!
The Center on Halsted has a free,
family Halloween Party from 1PM to 3:30PM. LGBT
Families can join in on the boo-tastic fun with haunting
movies, not-too scary storytime for tots, halloween
cookies made to order by ghosts and goblins with loads
of games, tasty (& healthy) treats tossed in for
good measure.
All kids are invited to participate
in Trick or Treating on Halsted with Northalsted
Businesses (Grace to Belmont) from 2PM to 4PM.
Costumed characters from Alice in Wonderland will point
the way to participating merchants.
Kids and their parents are then
welcome to join us from 4PM to 6PM at Space Park
(815-817 W Roscoe) for more fun, games & special
prizes! Space Park will be transformed by Two
Lights Theater Company into Wonderland for a Tea
Party! At 5PM, the Chicago Red Line caberet
group will perform on the main Halloween stage located
in 7-Eleven's parking lot at Roscoe and Halsted.
At 6PM, before the parade kicks
off at Belmont and Halsted, Jimmy John is hosting a "Big
Wheels" relay race in which ten participating companies
will dress up in their most ridiculous halloween
outfits, race on the parade course and scarf down Jimmy
John sandwiches - all to raise money for a charitable
cause of the winning team.
Of course the parade is the main event
with several thousand dollars in prizes
awarded to a dozen winners between kids, pets,
adults, couples and groups. To enter, you must register in advance
FOR FREE from 4PM to 6PM.
Kids will register at Space Park; Pets will register on
Roscoe near the Park; Adults, couples and groups
register at SPIN Nightclub (800 W
Belmont). |
