 LVCC LogoDear John,

We wake up with Chicago in the center of the political universe.   Many changes are likely for our City - including speculation that our own US Representative Emanuel will be tapped to a new post.   No matter what happens or who you voted for, you can still Get Involved in Lake View.

Read below to find out about:

 - Who Won the Costume Contest in the Northalsted Halloween Parade;
 - How To Enter the Lottery to purchase Hockey Tickets at Wrigley Field;

Halloween Parade

See Photos of the Winners!

Over 10,000 people gathered on Halsted Street to witness and participate in the 12th Annual Triangle Neighbors' Northalsted Halloween Parade.  Several hundred contestants entered and competed for over $4,000 in cash and prizes.  Top honors went to Tony "Transformer" Millenbine.  Runner-up and best drag was Kevin "Project Runway".  Group prizes went to Barbie's Prancing Poodles and the 1969 Vulvairan Women's Gymnast Team.  The best couple was Jeffrey Rhodes and Jose Afante, the Ambiguously Gay Duo from SNL.  In the kids' category, Theo Barlett's "Mr. T" took away top prize.  Triangle Neighbors wants to thank everyone and acknowledge the slow start of the parade.  Comments about the parade can be made at tonight's CAPS/Triangle Neighbors' Meeting at Nookies (Buckingham/Halsted) beginning at 7PM.  See the photos.

Hockey at Wrigley
No special tickets yet for Lake View residents and businesses

The NHL and the Chicago Blackhawks announced Monday they will conduct a random lottery drawing for tickets to the January 1, 2009 game at Wrigley Field.  A separate lottery will be made available for Amateur Hockey Association of Illinois (AHAI) participants.  As of writing, despite strong pleas from the neighborhood, no plans have been announced for any tickets to be set aside for Lake View residents and businesses.  To enter the drawing to be eligible to purchase a limited number of tickets to the January 1st game, register between 11/5-11/28 at www.chicagoblackhawks.com
