September 2009

 LVCC LogoDear John,

Thanks to all the volunteers and to those who attended the LVCC Music Festival on August 22nd and 23rd. We had a very successful event. We also helped local not-for-profits raise funds by allowing them to work the beer tent and keep their tips. The music festival is the single largest source of funds for LVCC. The funds raised allow us to continue to provide educational/informational forums for the community and work on projects to improve the quality of life in Lake View.

We sponsored  a personal safety seminar with the staff from the 19th District of the Chicago Police Department. This forum provided tips on how not to be a victim of crime. We had had some publicized crime in Lake View and want to be responsive to this issue.

Watch our website for details on a fall event  and the Founder's Reception which will be held on Tuesday, October 27, 2009, at Harry Caray's.

LVCC Jewel Shop and Share Days
September 14-16, 2009

LVCC will be holding Jewel Shop and Share Days at any Chicagoland Jewel on September 14, 15 & 16, 2009. The Shop and Share form for LVCC must be turned in when you make your purchase. The forms are available on the LVCC website and at the LVCC office at 3355 N. Clark. LVCC will receive 5% of the total sales from these days. Please encourage your friends and neighbors to support LVCC by shopping at Jewel on these days. The money raised enables LVCC to provide educational forums and work on issues to improve the quality of life in Lake View.
