Sheil Park Party

Mystic Celt - Feb 26th - $30

As you know, the Sheil Park Advisory Council has been working to raise funds for the renovation and enhancement of the Sheil Park playground at 3505 N Southport Ave.  In an attempt to continue the momentum that has already been achieved, a fundraiser is being held on Thursday, February 26th at Mystic Celt from 8:00-11:00p.m.  This is a great opportunity for businesses, friends and neighbors to catch up over a couple of beers.  At $30 for 3 hours of beer, wine, soda and light snacks, it's quite a good deal for neighbors and non-neighbors alike.  More information about Project IMAGINE can be found here: www.IMAGINESheilParkPlayroundRenovation.com

St Patty's Day 5K
Register by March 1st and save $5!

Be Seen ... Be Green is the theme of Chicago's 8th annual St. Paddy's Day 5K along Chicago's scenic lakefront at Diversey Harbor. Held March 15th, two days before official St. Patrick's Day (March 17), this popular annual event also celebrates the beginning of spring. In addition, a "Leprechaun Leap" -- a fun-filled kids' dash -- will be held for the young ones.

To celebrate the Emerald Isle, run/walk participants are encouraged to use their imaginations and don green attire as there will be awards for most innovative garb.

An estimated 1,500 enthusiasts are expected to participate in this iconic annual event starting at 9AM. And following the run/walk, a nearby tavern will toast the day (and run/walk) with food, drink, awards, prizes and more. Proceeds benefit Lake View Citzens' Council.  Details >>
