Halloween Parade on October 31,
2009 |
|
Dear John,
The 2009
Halloween Parade is tomorrow and the forecast
calls for no rain! Hope you're getting your
costume ready for this year's "Mad Hatter's Ball"!
Remember the parade is starting an hour earlier (at 6PM)
with registration from 4PM-6PM.
There are over $5,000 in
prizes in several categories - kids,
pets, adults, couples and groups. For the adults,
there will be categories for Drag, Most Original,
Scariest and Best costume related to our theme, "Mad
Hatter's Ball".
Children and their parents can
enjoy Trick-or-treating with Northalsted businesses
from 2PM to 4PM and then join us at Space Park (815 W
Roscoe) from 4PM to 6PM before marching in the
parade.
Dressing up your dog or cat? Stop by and see
what Chicago Canine Rescue and Blum Animal
Hospital have prepared at Roscoe and Halsted
between 4PM and 6PM before marching in the parade.
Adults and groups should check in at SPIN from
4PM to 6PM. You must bring a photo ID and you
must register if you intend to march in the parade
and/or participate in the costume contest.
Interested in volunteering with set-up, registration,
parade marshalling or clean-up, let us know. We could use your
help for a couple hours!
Remember the parade starts at 6PM! We'll have
pre-parade entertainment at both Brompton/Halsted and
Roscoe/Halsted and a post-parade show and award ceremony
at Roscoe/Halsted. Consequently, there will be no
parking on Halsted after 3PM tomorrow and Halsted will
be closed to traffic (including cross-streets between
Belmont and Addison) from 4PM until the end of
festivities later that evening.
Have a safe and incredible
Halloween! |

Join Two Lights Theater Company as they transform
Space Park and Northalsted into Wonderland. Look
forward to seeing characters from Alice's Adventures in
Wonderland at the Mad Hatter Tea Party - including our
emcee, Miss Foozie as the Queen of Hearts.
To march in the parade or enter the costume
contest, you must register in advance. NO
EXCEPTIONS.
We're excited to bring fire, music and
even Cirque de Soleil to Halsted Street tomorrow!
Come join us - it's free for everyone and a lot of
fun. | |
